Styling Cookie Consent in DNN with Tailwind CSS

Posted in How To, Design, Video on September 13, 2022

Tired of the ugly black and yellow Cookie Consent banner on DNN websites? Let's fix that.

For the average DNN website, there are only a few public-facing CMS components that you probably need to style. For example, Login, Registration, and Search. And the only other thing that I can think of (at the moment) is the Cookie Consent.

But pretty much every DNN website that I come across uses the default Cookie Consent style out of the box. You know what I'm talking about? That ugly, blocky, dark and yellow (?!) button when you first land on a DNN website that has Cookie Consent enabled.

In this video, I'll show you how to quickly and easily style it really easily so it stays on brand.

Even if you don't use Tailwind CSS, you can still use the same ideas and even the same Generated CSS to style your Cookie Consent. Here's the Tailwind Play link.

Like what you see? This is one of those many little things that I do to make the best User Interfaces I can in DNN (and beyond). If you're looking for a front-end developer who cares deeply about improving the User Experience, contact me at aaron.lopez@wolfxmachina.com
